LV-2: Online Training
The CERT online page is a platform for citizens who want to learn about individual preparedness. It’s designed for those who cannot participate in practical hands-on exercises but still want easy access to the FEMA CERT topics outlined in the official program. Students will learn about generic threats and hazards and be trained in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
This FREE training is a new hybrid online and in-person format and includes:
- An online lecture portion
- In-person hands-on practice portion
Online Lectures (At your own pace and convenience)
- Estimated time = 12 hours
- Access it on your device or computer
- Complete it at your own pace and at your convenience
- Course progress will be saved and can be resumed later
- Must be completed before the hands-on practical portion of your training
In-Person Hands-On Practical Skills Training
- Estimated time = 16 hours
- Date and time to be determined
By the end of the training, you can improve your emergency preparedness at home, in your community, and at work. This program gives you information on what to plan for, how to make your home and workspace safer, and what you should have on hand.
